Auro makes beautiful chocolates in the Philippines from cocoa from the Philippines.
They also have chocolates with flavors, but the Reserve line is really about cocoa. Single estate, from one cocoa farm. And of course from beautiful cocoa that gives the chocolate a wonderfully rich taste.

They say about it: Located among the tropical mountain forests. Paquibato is a community that grows many fruit trees. This gives the chocolate tones of forest valley flowers, dark honey and nuts.

Ik vind de chocolades van Auro, voor zover ik ze geproefd heb, allemaal heerlijk. Heel krachtige cacao, zonder dat het heel ‘donker’, bitter of zuur wordt. Maar toch romig, iets kruidig en complex. Heel bijzonder. Begin 2019 op Chocoa in Amsterdam heb ik kennisgemaakt met Auro. Helaas voor mij een beetje aan het einde van de beurs, zodat ik geen zin meer had om alles te proeven. Ik heb toen wat 85% ingeslagen, ik weet niet meer hoe die heette. Maar de 70% chocolades zijn ook heerlijk. Samen met Soma staat Auro absoluut bovenaan bij mijn favoriete chocolademakers.
