75% Madagaskar cocoa in this chocolate by Akesson’s with black pepper.
The cocoa is from his own ‘Ambolikapiky estate’ and so is the pepper! True ‘single plantation’ chocolate, in this case with the trinitario cocoa and black pepper.
Taste note (el Sauco): a nice blend of the fruitiniess and the coarsely grinded black pepper. Notes of red fruit and pine nuts. Hints of fresh green fruit.
Awards: winner of amongst others 2 stars at Great Taste 2016, bronze at Academy of Chocolate 2016, silver at International Chocolate Awards in the ‘best flavoured bar’ category.
2017: 3 stars at the Great Taste Awards.
