A very fruity, sour chocolate from Chililique cacao from Peru.
We already know this cocoa from our assortment for Chocolate Tree. The cocoa is characteristically sour and fruity, very tasteful. Certainly not suitable if you do not want some acid in your chocolate. You also have to get used to that. If you’re not used to it, you will have to taste a few pieces before you taste ‘through the acid’ and recognize the complex flavors behind it. But that is the same for other tastes.
Only when you are familiar with the basic tastes and your reaction is not ‘ooh, bitter’ on dark chocolate or in this case ‘idiom, acid’ will you find the interesting flavors. Equally good for sitting, smelling, tasting.
Anyway, at the International Chocolate Awards they thought this bar was top, he was awarded a gold medal at the European semi-finals. Says certainly not everything. And again: if you do not want acid, do not buy this bar. But it is certainly a beautiful example of a chocolate made from this cocoa from the Chulucanas district in Piura in the North of Peru.
