The 62% version of this bar may have been awarded the best chocolate in the world (best in competition Internatinonal Chocolate Awards 2019) – we personally think this version with slightly more cocoa is better.
Contains only cocoa & sugar. And yet you taste so much more. We thought very strongly of (thomson) raisins when tasting the bar blindly. And with tasting you taste more and more. One of the best things about our work as chocolate sellers is that we have learned that so many tastes can be hidden in cocoa and therefore in chocolate. As Fu Wan describes them: raisin, toffee, nuts, tropical fruit, licorice & vanilla.
During tasting, we also come across taste tones with several chocolates from Fu Wan that we ourselves value less. Somewhat metallic? Maybe even stale? But that is also the beauty of cocoa tasting. One time you are completely convinced, then you are not, and maybe we will say next week that we love these bars.
Ingredients: cocoa, cane sugar.
Awarded with silver at the International Chocolate Awards world final. Tree to bar made in Ping Tun Taiwan, directly from Taiwanese cocoa trees, cocoa is made on site and with it the chocolate again. We have the idea that the jury was partly so enthusiastic about that concept, because we have to be honest – there are chocolates with a more sparkling taste profile, such as Soma. But those are not made directly where the cocoa grows. It will also play a role that high-quality cocoa from Taiwan actually barely existed and that Fu Wan is one of the first to devote great care to it. Growing the cocoa, experimenting with fermentations. In short – fully committed to good and honest chocolate.
