The company is looking for special cocoa varieties in Peru. They test the cocoa found in a laboratory to insure themselves of genetically unique cocoa. These are then grafted onto the cocoa plantation, creating very tasty chocolates. From wild cocoa from the jungles to the Lakuna, from Criolllo Piura beans to the Piura Select.
Our favorites may be clear: the pure Lakuna and Piura.
Incidentally, we do not know very much about Cacaosuyo, they leave little to their website for example about who they are, how they cooperate with the cocoa farmers and the like. They call their chocolate 'the best Kept Secret of the Incas' – we actually like something more open. So far we can not say anything sensible about whether or not these chocolates are honest. Fully selected on the taste.
