Cocoa suyo Piura. An extraordinary bar from Peru.
Cacaosuyo herself says about this chocolate: “From tree to bar. This chocolate bar made with organic white cocoa from the Piura region in Peru, selected with care to offer the best quality chocolate. The same applies here: chocolate is a natural product, the cocoa harvest is slightly different every year. In our opinion, the bars of the later years are slightly less ‘clear’ in taste than before. With in this case also a somewhat medicinal taste in addition to the citrus flavor notes (think of paracetamol). Maybe that is mainly what we taste, so we are curious what we hear from our customers as feedback about the Cacaosuyo bars. In any case, we think the Piura Nibs is a bit more balanced.
Taste note from the makers: light notes of citrus and nuts. And more specifically: fruity, lemony profile, with notes of walnut, honey, brown sugar and malt.
We say: a lot of flavor, a lot of flavor. We certainly recognize citrus fruit in it. We like to taste the chocolate, and it has been given every credit so far. Ranging from ‘wow’ to ‘great’ to ‘mmm, that taste … what’s added?’. Nothing, it is really only cocoa with sugar. Good cocoa, sugar and a lot of craftsmanship.
