When Soma Canadian chocolate makers have something new again, we always rub our hands, hoping there is some way we can make it available to us and our customers.
Similarly in this case. Soma made 5 chocolates they call ‘uncomplicated and charming’. Simple, and charming.
The simple combination of good chocolate with high quality ingredients. Nothing more and nothing less.
In this case, five milk chocolates, the package is also available with dark chocolate.
Now we also know Soma for their origins of chocolates (one even more than the other), the wonderfully fruity fruit chocolates (raspberry, mango lassi) and of course the classic ‘old school milk & dark’ – all crowned with a whole range of awards, to the awards for best dark chocolate in the world at the world final of the International Chocoalte Awards for Soma Guasare.
So in this series not so many dazzling flavors, but an exercise in simplicity. Chocolates that you don’t have to sit well for, but to nibble on and dream away.
In this package you get five dark chocolates, all with 62% cocoa. The additions are:
Roasted Cacao Nibs
Slow Roasted Almond
Slow Roasted Hazelnut
The cocoa used (38%) comes from Costa Rica. And of course the additives are slightly different than with the dark chocolate. Selected together, tasted and approved.
Good to know: the stated ‘best before date’ as Soma has put it on these bars is one year after production date (October / November 2019), while they normally last for 2 years for their dark and milk chocolates. We therefore guarantee (when stored in cool storage) a much longer shelf life, for at least another six months (so April 2021). Much more important how long you keep the chocolates is how you keep them. Not too humid, not too warm, not too cold. But with these chocolates we also know that you really will not keep them for months. And because of the stated best before date, we also give a substantial discount from the start, of course in the hope that you will use the 8 euro discount to order some other goodies from Soma, worth it anyway.
