Vegan and so milk-free ‘milk chocolate’.
Coconut milk was used instead of cow’s milk. The sugar also fits nicely with this – coconut blossom sugar has been added instead of cane sugar.
The cocoa percentage is high at 55% for a milk chocolate. The cocoa comes from the Chililique community in the Piura area in Northern Peru. Obviously like all cocoa at Chocolate Tree via direct trade for a fair price.
The taste: the cocoa from Peru is good fruity, sour and a substantial amount of coconut is added. As far as we are concerned, a chocolate to eat in very small snacks because the whole blows you differently in taste. The coconut flavor is strong, so really for lovers, and therefore also a chocolate that is suitable for next to your summer cocktail or in a tasting alongside a more classic dark chocolate for the contrast.
Finally, the bar is not only vegan, but also organic certified. That in turn has its advantages for nature.
