Pretty dark and raw processed (stone ground) chocolate from cocoa from Mexico with matching spices added: cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper and chili.
80% cocoa, strong spice flavor, very rough in structure so you also definitely experience the granular structure of the sugar. Not a sweet chocolate bar, previously intended as a heavy ‘primal’ sensation.
Cocoa has a long history in Mexico. Traditionally stone paving, in various cocoa drinks. Nowadays, but certainly also in cultures from thousands of years ago. There is evidence that chocolate was consumed between 3000-4000 years ago. In this first history, cocoa is certainly consumed as a drink, it is often thought to be in a role in ceremony / religion / faith or in drinks of which a medicinal effect was expected.
