Cocoa crossing the ocean with sailing ship De Avontuur. From Belize to Hamburg entirely on the strength of the wind. Beautiful right?
Zotter made not one but two nice and tasty chocolates from this cocoa. This variant has 72% cocoa – for those who would like it a little more pure, there is also the variant with 82% cocoa. Also nice to order together and to compare them.
Very smooth taste, and as Zotter points out, an amazing experience between the smell and the taste in the mouth. Very fruity in the scent but absolutely not sour in the mouth, and a more creamy experience
As Zotter puts it:
“Set a course for the environment! This cocoa traveled from Belize to Hamburg for more than two months on the sailing boat Adventure, a completely emission-free journey. On board the legendary Maya cocoa, which we use to create a mild, sweet single origin chocolate. with a cocoa content of 72% The Maya, a sailing boat and organic cocoa – a magical blend that produces a chocolate that combines tradition with future innovation, while flying new flags for environmental protection.
Fragrance notes: soft fruit mix, subtle notes of olive and cinnamon
Taste notes: surprisingly sweet and mild, caramelized notes, sweet condensed milk, mild floral note, blackberries, a grape skin and malt finish ”
They also say about taste: “prepare for a surprising act of deception which will challenge your sense of taste. You can make out this chocolate’s fruity bouquet, accompanied by a hint of olive and cinnamon just with your sense of smell before it transforms into something entirely different on the palate ”
