Description
The collaboration between Fossa and the tea curators of Pekoe & Imp has resulted in another great collaboration for lovers of good tea, lovers of good chocolate and lovers of the combination thereof.
We are certainly not tea experts ourselves (now a little bit for chocolate), so we mainly share what the makers themselves say, below, and that it is a milk chocolate with a high cocoa percentage (we are betting at 60-65%) – and Jing Jun Mei Hongcha tea – if you don’t know what that tea is you can find plenty about it on the internet, but read about the taste below what the makers have to say. What we found is that it is a fairly new tea (made from the 90s), also called ‘golden eyebrow’ and originating from the Wuji Mountains in China.
“A collaboration with chocolate with rare tea curator – Pekoe & Imp. Only 1200 bars made.
Jin Jun Mei (金 骏 眉) is a relatively new style of black tea, developed in the Wuyi Mountains of the famous Lapsang Souchong style of black tea in 2005. This lot comes from the neighboring township Nanping, made from local cultivar with small leaves 小菜 茶 harvested from a height of 1000 meters in the spring of 2020.
Packed with golden tips, this tea has notes of orange peel and honey, highlighted by citrusy Harana cocoa from the Philippines. ”
Taste notes: orange zest, malt, honey.
Ingredients: cocoa, cane sugar, milk powder, tea leaves.
Allergy note: contains milk, may contain traces of nuts.
