Description
Dark chocolate from cocoa from the Philippines that starts with a nice strong citrus taste and moves into more subtle nutty and fruity flavors – think lychee and hazelnut. With definitely a long lasting taste.
Nice to know – the cocoa comes via Auro Chocolate, who in addition to making great chocolates (also highly recommended) also sell the cocoa from the Philippines and ensure that the cocoa farmers locally get a much higher price for their cocoa than before.
Description of the makers: “Handmade in Singapore with a single variety of Catongo or Forestero Albino cocoa from Davao, the Philippines. These rare cocoa beans are huge (~3 cm) and have white colored flesh hence the name “Luna”, meaning moon This color turns a light reddish brown after fermentation and this is reflected in the chocolate. Our process emphasizes the natural citrus and dried fruit character of the beans.”
Taste description from the makers: citrus, dried longan, hazelnut
Ingredients: cocoa, cane sugar
Content 50 grams. 75% cocoa. Allergy note from the makers: made in a place that also processes nuts and milk.
Caspar –
Bijzondere smaak.
