Fun! An exciting (not too pronounced, suitable for many) combination of dark milk chocolate with imperial stout beer from Naive.
And for now (December 2018) – as far as we have found – we are also the first in the world to have this bar in the assortment.
We are not going to insist on that extra exclusivity – about a month you can also find them elsewhere – but like to be there for the first time – especially when it comes to chocolate with special beer (in it).
If the chocolate vendors have an outing with some mates, sometimes a special beer is drunk. And you may well know that one of the beer styles where chocolate sales Paul’s eyes start to glisten is called the imperial stout. Dark, powerful and in his opinion also a bit complex. So not only roasted flavors, or just the taste of liquorice or coffee. No, preferably powerful but also with nuance.
Anyway, this chocolate – an imperial stout chocolate. A dark milk chocolate with 62% with an imperial stout matured on bourbon casks.
Taste note of the maker: distilled sweetness with a hint of coffee, roasted caramel, hazelnut, vanilla and … mushroom. Very complex and dynamic with lots of nuances. Impressive aftertaste.
Naive also gives some pairing suggestions: Of course … an imperial stout (at room temperature) and otherwise a soft sweet whiskey.
Ingredients: cocoa, sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder, imperial stout beer.
Allergy note of the maker: May contain traces of nuts.
Craft beer, craft chocolate. A nice combination to taste, and also fun to see in a chocolate all combined!
