Zotter filled chocolate. But just like the chocolate with date & cashew, it’s not about one of the very sweet creations like Zotter makes them, but about a chocolate with a filling (like a bonbon) but without refined sugar. The chocolate is a 100% cocoa chocolate, and the filling is made with plums & hazelnuts, a little bit of date and finally a little bit of rum – not for the alcohol but for the taste. The plums and dates give the sweetness thanks to the natural sugars, but it is certainly not overly sweet. A real chocolate if you don’t have a sweet tooth, and would like to try one of those filled Handscooped chocolates from Zotter.
Like everything Zotter makes organically certified. The taste is powerful, because the sweetness is much less, the other flavors, the plum, but also the bitterness of the 100% chocolate come through more. So all in all quite a powerful taste experience, perhaps too powerful for some, others will say: hehe, finally a filled chocolate the way I like it. Just where your preferences lie, of course.
