Description
A ‘milk chocolate’ but with oat drink (‘oat milk’ – oatmilk – but actually not officially allowed to call it that in Europe) instead of regular milk.
Raaka says: “Chocolate of the future. Think back to the best oatmeal cookie you’ve ever had. Take that in mind, wrap it in maple sugar and you have this wonderfully progressive vegetable ‘milk’ chocolate. The bar reminds us of a home-made granola covered with chocolate. It could be breakfast or a dessert. Cane-free ”
Also nice to see a vegan milk chocolate based on oats. Sure, why not. As far as we are concerned, there is not much reason to choose cow’s milk, there are many good alternatives.
Of course … our number one priority is taste, and also know that there are people who want ordinary milk chocolate and not otherwise. Which to us is also fine – each their own.
But if you want something different … then nowadays you have a good choice of not only chocolate with soy, coconut, almond and other nuts, but now also … oats. Nice to compare with each other too.
With 58% also a high cocoa percentage for a milk chocolate. So … less sugar.
The cocoa is unroasted (raw) and comes from CAC Pangoa cooperative in Peru.
Direct trade. And quite transparent too. On the inside of the bar you can read that for these cocoa beans (700 cocoa farmers in the Junín Region in Peru) $ 4.40 per kilo was paid in 2018. That is far above the fair trade price. There is a nice graph on the bar. Openness, important!
